Northshore Harbor Center
This facility marks East St. Tammany Parish’s entry into the lucrative convention and meeting industry. The 45,000 sq. ft. building was completed in 2005 for about $19 million and includes 20,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space with a special performance and recital hall, meeting rooms designed for high tech teleconferencing and a full kitchen for catering events.
Moses Engineers provided all mechanical, engineering, and plumbing (MEP) design services and then assisted with renovations after Hurricane Katrina flooded the facility.
This building is one of only 16 convention centers nationally to participate in the EPA Energy Star program. It features energy efficient plumbing with motion sensors on faucets, low flow aerators and high efficiency air handling units with dedicated outside air units using heat recovery. These features provide energy savings. Specially designed floor boxes spaced on 15’ centers are designed to withstand truck loading and include electricity, phone, water and data ports.
