Sustainable Design

Moses Engineers has taken a leadership role by providing both mechanical and electrical designs that minimize energy consumption while maintaining comfortable building parameters. With the advent of the National Energy Code and the United States Green Building Council, we offer full LEED services including energy modeling, checklist preparation and building certification assistance.

Principals W. Howard Moses and Lenny Zimmermann are both LEED Accredited Professionals as well as 80% of Moses Engineers’ technical staff. Additionally, Mr. Zimmermann has served on the USGBC Committee for establishing the LEED Fellowship criteria.

In 2012, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded Moses Engineers its first annual Sustainability Leadership “Community Championship Team” Award. This award is given for the total body of work provided in the field of sustainable design practices. In 2009, Moses Engineers’ MEP design contributed to Tulane’s Lavin-Bernick Center being awarded the National AIA Top Ten Green Project award for it’s “thermal zoning, technically innovative variable shading, moving air and radiant cooling.”
