WVUE-TV Fox 8 Studio

The WVUE-TV Fox 8 headquarters and studio facilities, located in the Mid City area of New Orleans is, like the rest of the city, threatened by hurricanes and flooding. But a corner of an elevated floor in the Benson Towers facing the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and Champions Square provided the perfect location for this Fox TV network affiliate to place a second broadcast studio, control rooms, broadcast technology core and executive offices with conference facilities.

The studio incorporates state of the art set illumination with energy efficient and long life LED technology and networked computer controlled dimming, allowing for each individual instrument to be controlled rather than the more typical racks of dimmers. The facility includes uninterruptible power and generator backed broadcast and support systems in the event of hurricanes and other natural disasters. Originally intended as a backup facility with occasional non-emergency remote feed use during the Saints football season, it proved so successful, popular and flexible, the station utilizes it regularly for their daily news broadcasts.
