Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts

Mahalia Jackson Theatre

Moses Engineers provided electrical and construction support services associated with the restoration and upgrade to New Orleans’ prime live stage performance venue, both theatrical and concert. We upgraded the 2,100 seat theatre, state of the art at the time it was built in the 1970’s, to today’s standards of interior, lighting and sound reinforcement systems.

Additionally, in the adjacent Armstrong Park, we provided park lighting systems and power to lagoon fountain pumps for this cultural gem. The park was restored and renovated to create a powerful statement not only at the entrance but also at all walkways and bridges that heretofore had been underutilized. The finished product created a complimentary space to the renovated Mahalia Jackson Theatre.

Following this initial work, Moses Engineers provided forensic investigations and issued recommendations for corrective measures to address HVAC operational issues.
